Seagate reportedly would reduce their hard drive warranty period of 5 years, to 2 years.This is done to reduce operational costs forBut the news has not been issued officially by Seagate, but rather on the basis of a report written tomshardware, Friday (5/8/2011).
Rumours also mention some of the hard drive which would cut the warranty, such as Seagate Barracuda to 7,200 RPM version and 5,900 RPM on a range of capacity of 500 GB to 2 TB.
While the other version is also cut the Momentus series warranty is Green, the hard drive size of 2.5 inches are widely used in notebooks. While the hard drive is intended for enterprise reported no change in the warranty period
